THE UK TRAIN TRAGEDY

The South African Government has learnt with great sorrow of the train tragedy near Paddington station, London, yesterday.

On behalf of the South African government, the High Commission expresses its sincere condolences to the Government and the people of Britain and particularly to families and friends who suffered personal losses as a result. To those who have been injured in this tragedy we express the Government's wishes for a speedy recovery.

At this point no South African casualties have been reported.
