The Head of State of the Republic of Burundi, President Pierre Buyoya, will pay an official visit to South Africa on 28 August 1999. The President will meet with President Thabo Mbeki and Foreign Minister Nkosazana Zuma at the Presidential Guest House in Pretoria.
President Buyoya will be accompanied by his Minister of External Relations and Cooperation, Mr Severin Ntahomvukiye.
It is anticipated that the on-going Burundi peace process, the attainment of stability in the Great Lakes Region, as well as other issues of bilateral interest will be discussed by the two Heads of State.
