President Thabo Mbeki joins millions of South Africans in wishing our beloved former president Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela a very happy 81st birthday On this very special ocassion the whole country is reminded of the wonderful gift he has given us all, of love and peace among all South Africans - black and white, for which we are eternally indebted. The government reconfirms that the aims of reconciliation, social transformation and nation building, which he struggled for at great personal cost, remains the cornerstone of its policies. We are firmly on course. The president, government and people of South Africa wish Madiba many many happy returns.
