GAUTENG PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL GOES TO A RETREAT

Issued by: Gauteng Provincial Government The Premier of Gauteng and all members of the Executive Council will hold a two day strategic planning meeting at an unspecified venue on 21 - 23 June 1999.

The strategic planning session will afford the Executive Council an opportunity to evaluate the work of the Gauteng Provincial Government over the past four years and plan for the next five years.

In his address at the his inauguration as the Premier of Gauteng, Mbhazima Shilowa made a pledge to the people of Gauteng to speed up the process of creating a better life for all.

When the Executive Council concludes its retreat it will communicate to the people of Gauteng the plans it will be putting in place to do what they have mandated the provincial government to do.

On 28 June 1999 the Premier will address the Gauteng Provincial Legislature. He will use this opportunity to outline the Executive Council's plans for the next five years and ask for the support of the Legislators for such plans.
