SAITIS is a joint bilateral project between the South African Government, as represented by the Department of Trade & Industry (Directorate: Electrical and Electronic Industries), and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
This is a three year, CDN$3,5 million Project to help develop a strong SA IT Industry. The project goal is to develop a strong South African Information Technology Industry to contribute to sustainable economic growth, social upliftment and empowerment.
The Minister of Trade and Industry and the Canadian High Commissioner will be signing the MoU on behalf of the two Countries. SAITIS Stakeholders which include Government, Labour, Business/Industry, IT Associations, Parastatals & Service Providers, Civil Organization and Human Resource Members will, amongst other invited guests and leaders of the IT Industry, be attending the Session.
The Project will encompass all aspects of IT, including communication technologies. The Canadian Executing Agency, PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC - Canada), will present a status report on the Project Implementation Plan including the first year's phase of the Project. You are invited to attend the Signing Ceremony of the MoU as well as the Report Back Session to the Stakeholders:
