Are your over 60? You've got the right age Get active - get involved - this is your day - Your year!
The theme for World Health Day on 7 April 1999 is Active Ageing. The theme will be one of the highlights of World Health Organisation's contributions to mark 1999, the International Year of Older Persons, declared by the United Nations at its General Assembly in 1991. The Department of Health's contribution to older persons on this day is a guideline on Promotion of Physical Activity, targeting caregivers of older persons and professionals.
Physical activity is good for you! Challenge a friend, a neighbour or a family member to walk, swim or exercise with you at least three times a week for about 30 minutes. A health professional should approve your participation in physical activities.
Active ageing means healthy ageing. Be part of the active healthy ageing group as from April 07, 1999 into the new millennium Kind regards
Dr N C Dlamini-Zuma
