South African travellers are advised that, with immediate effect, they require visas to visit Cote d'Ivoire. This means that persons travelling on South African passports will be required to apply for visas from the diplomatic or consular missions of the Côte d'Ivoire before commencing their journey to that country.
The Ivorian authorities are applying the newly instituted visa requirements strictly and South African passport holders are warned that they will not be allowed through Ivorian ports of entry unless they are in possession of valid visas.
The above information is brought to the attention of the South African public and travel industry in order to avoid unnecessary inconvience to travellers.
