President Nelson Mandela is happy to announce the appointment, on the advice of the National Assembly and in terms of Section 7 of the Electoral Commission Act No.51 of 1996, of Mr. Justice Husain as a member of the Electoral Commission.
In terms of section 8(1) of the Act the President has appointed Ms. M W Bam (the current vice-chairperson and acting chairperson) as chairperson of the Electoral Commission and Professor H W Vilakazi as vice-chairperson.
