STATEMENT BY DEPUTY MINISTER NHLANHLA ON SPECULATION ABOUT HIS FUTURE

Issued by: Ministry for Intelligence Services

Over the past weeks I have been inundated with inquiries from concerned members of the public and from cadres of the African National Congres (ANC) about media speculation on my future.

I have to date not responded to this, as I have been of the view that such speculation is insignificant and not worthy of any response. However, rumour mongering has become rife. Practically wherever I go I am requested to shed light on this matter. For this reason, I have decided to set the record straight.

I am a dedicated and loyal ANC cadre. Issues of this nature I would first discuss with the President and the Deputy President, before I make any decision on my future.

Secondly, the ANC has set up a deployment committee which is currently focusing on the deployment of all ANC cadres, myself included.

I hope that this will put to rest the ongoing rumours that have originated from faceless sources.
