The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Alfred Nzo, today expressed shock at the news of the untimely death of Chief Everestus Retselisitsoe (ER) Sekhonyana, leader of one of Lesotho's opposition political parties, the Basotho National Party (BNP). The Minister also conveyed his condolences to Chief Sekhonyana's family and the people of the Kingdom of Lesotho.
Chief Sekhonyana, a former minister of finance and foreign affairs in various administrations, played a leading role in attempts at finding a lasting political solution to the current crisis in Lesotho.
Minister Nzo expressed the hope that Chief Sekhonyana's leadership qualities would continue to influence positively his party and Lesotho's collective leadership in these challenging times.
