The Minister of Justice, Public Service and Administration, Provincial Affairs & Constitutional Development, and Chairperson(s) of the Portfolio Committee on Public Service & Administration and Public Service Commissions will brief the media on a Public Sector Anti-Corruption conference due to take place in Cape Town next week.
The three ministries and the Portfolio Committee on Public Service & Administration, are the co-hosts of this high-level conference which as an integral part of the National Anti-corruption Initiative, is intended to address the urgent need for an action-driven approach to combat corruption in the public sector. The Deputy President is to deliver the keynote address.
The programme will panel discussions and commissions covering the following issues: financial management; management of conduct; procurement; local government and service delivery; the criminal justice and strategic coordination. These commissions will be chaired by, inter alia, Deputy minister of Finance Gill Marcus, Public Protector Selby Baqwa, Secretary for Safety and Security Azhar Cachalia and Judge Willem Heath.
