MEDIA STATEMENT BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS CONCERNING THE BOMB EXPLOSION NEAR GUSH KATIF, GAZA, THURSDAY, 29 OCTOBER 1998
The Department of Foreign Affairs expressed its dismay and its strong condemnation of the bomb attack at Gush Katif near Gaza which was clearly aimed at claiming the lives of innocent civilians. This attack was moreover predictably designed to disrupt the positive impetus created after the Wye Plantation Agreement.
The Department accordingly called on all parties concerned not to allow acts of this nature perpetrated by extremists, to derail the peace process.
