The Department of Foreign Affairs reacted with dismay at news of a grenade attack at a bus station in Beer Sheva, Israel earlier this morning. Expressing unequivocal condemnation of the cowardly action, which resulted in serious and even critical injuries to innocent bystanders, the Department emphasised the need for calm at this juncture, precisely when leadership is engaged in discussions at the Wye Plantation towards finding a way forward in the embattled Middle East Peace Process. Any attempts by extremists of whatever persuasion, to put paid or cause further damage to the Peace Process, must be withstood in the interests of all in the region.
