The ANC Albany Constituency Office was razed to the ground last night, destroying invaluable information and thousands of rands of office equipment. The cause of the fire is not yet known, and the police have flown in forensic experts from Pretoria to determine the exact cause of the fire.
The ANC Albany Constituency office is used by Deputy Minister Lindiwe Sisulu (Home Affairs), Mrs I Gcina, MP, Mr T Moosa, MP, Mr M Madlingosi, MPL, and Mr G Nkwinti, Speaker in Eastern Cape Legislature.
The destruction of the office is a serious setback to ANC MPs deployed in the Albany region, because it comes during Parliamentary recess which is normally devoted to constituency work.
