President Mandela commenced a ten day leave period yesterday. The leave will end on 11 October 1998.
The President is currently on vacation in Maputo, Mozambique until the 8th October 1998. He will return to Umtata after paying a brief courtesy call on the royal family in Swaziland.
On the 10th October 1998 the President will attend the funeral of Queen Mtirara in Umtata.
President Mandela will return to Cape Town on Sunday 11th October.
All appointments that had been set for this period have either been cancelled or postponed.
