CLONING - WHAT ARE THE LIMITS AND MERITS? - A COLLOQUIUM HOSTED BY DACST

The Department of Arts, Culture, Science and Technology is hosting a colloquium on cloning. This public seminar takes place at the CSIR Conference Centre in Pretoria on September 7 1998, from 2pm to 5pm. Cloning has been a contentious scientific subject, but, this far, national debate has been limited. The Colloquium could provide useful guidance and documentation regarding national policy on Cloning.

Some of the country's leading experts will participate and tackle the scientific, religious, traditional, psychological, ethical and legal aspects on cloning. Additionally, the participants will be able to discuss whether any restrictions should apply and what criteria should be used in drawing boundaries within the SA context.

After brief inputs by invited speakers, there will be opportunity for questions and views from the floor.
