The Guateng MEC for Public Safety and Security, Mr Paul Mashatile, will tomorrow meet 40 schools principals who are involved in the 40 schools crime prevention project in Soweto, at Emathafeni Primary School in Soweto, at 13h00.
This programme (which was initiated by the Centre for the Study of Violence) has been running for 4 years and is being replicated in Thembisa and Randfontein. It provides training in trauma management skills for children, parents and teachers, as well as contributing to the development of safety strategies in the schools.
This programme is said to be one of the most innovative crime prevention programmes in the province.
