Pretoria - The latest draft of the amendments to the Tabacco Products Control Act (Act 83 of 1993), approved by Cabinet, was today published in the Government Gazette for comments.
An earlier draft of the bill distributed to stakeholders in July, gave stakeholders an opportunity to send their comments to the Department of Health by August 14, 1998. Due to requests from the public, the closing date for comments has been extended for a further two weeks.
All comments on the proposed amendments to the legislation should be addressed to the Minister of Health for the attention of the Director: Health Promotion.
Comments should reach the Department of Health on or before August 23, 1998.
