South Africa, as next chair of the Non-Aligned Movement, is currently in the process of normalising diplomatic relations with member-countries of the Non-Aligned Movement with which South Africa does not have formal relations, before the start of the Non-Aligned Movement Summit at the end of the month in Durban.
The process of normalising relations was done through an exchange of notes by South Africa's Permanent Representative at the United Nations in New York and the People's Republic of Korea was one of the countries with which agreement regarding the establishment of diplomatic relations were reached.
