Tuesday, 14 July 1998;

Ambassador of Nepal will present credentials to the President at the Presidency, Pretoria at 14h00. Media to arrive by 13h30.

Immediately after the credentials ceremony, there will be the swearing-in ceremony of the Minister of Labour, Mr S Mdladlana.

At 17h00 the President will attend the launch of the First Central Insurance Company at the Sandton Sun Convention Centre, Gauteng.

Wednesday, 15 July 1998;

Thursday, 16 July 1998;

President Mandela will host a function for about 1400 foster care children at the Kruger National Park in celebration of his 80th birthday.

Friday, 17 July 1998;

Between 10h00 and 11h00 the President will attend the conference of the Methodist Church at the International Convention Centre in Durban.

Saturday, 18 July 1998;

Today the President turns 80! he will celebrate his birthday with his family.

Sunday, 19 July 1998;

Monday, 20 July 1998;

President Mandela will depart for a state visit to Brazil.

Tuesday, 21 July 1998;

Wednesday, 22 July 1998;

The President departs on a state visit to Argentina.

Friday, 24 July 1998;

The President will attend the Mercosur Summit in Argentina.

Saturday, 25 July 1998;

President Mandela will return to South Africa, He will fly into Durban Airforce Base where he will rest for two days.

Sunday, 26 July 1998;

The President will rest in Durban today.

Monday, 27 July 1998;

Between 14h00 and 15h00 President Mandela will visit the Toyota factory in Durban.

Thereafter he will fly to Cape Town.
