The MEC for public safety and security in Gauteng, Mr Paul Mashatile, has informed the head of department, Mr Mkhabela Sibeko, that as part of restructuring, he will be appointing a new head of department.
In this regard, all the amounts due to the head of department are being negotiated with the Public Service Commission and it is hoped that they will be finalised by July 31.
This is but part of the restructuring process that is currently taking place within the department of safety and security.
The MEC in this process is working with the task team that was appointed to assist with the restructuring and is expected to complete its duties by not later than the end of July.
The MEC will like to put on record that there is no validity and it is totally untrue the allegations that there is an attempt to pre-empt the Moerane Commission report and that packages have been offered to Mr Mkhabela Sibeko.
