OFFICIAL VISIT TO SOUTH AFRICA BY HIS EXCELLENCY, THE PRESIDENT OF MALAWI MR BAKILI MULUZI AND MRS MULUZI
The President of Malawi, His Excellency Mr Bakili Muluzi, will be visiting South Africa as a guest of President Mandela from 1 - 4 June 1998.
President Muluzi's delegation will also include the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Agriculture.

Pool arrangements will apply at certain events. Please note that pool members will be obliged to make their material available to all media.
No flash lights or television lights will be allowed at venues where President Mandela is involved.
Media covering these events should be at the venues at least half an hour before the time.

MONDAY, 1 JUNE 1998
16:00 Arrival at Cape Town International Airport. To be met by Mr A Pahad, South African Deputy Foreign Minister, and escorted to the motorcade.
TUESDAY, 2 JUNE 1998
09:45 Welcome ceremony at Tuynhuys.
BILATERAL DISCUSSIONS
10:55 President Mandela and President Muluzi proceed to the presidential board room to join the delegations for discussions. Members of the media will be allowed in the presidential board room for a media call. 11:20 Meeting with the Speaker and the Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces. 13:00 Courtesy call by Deputy President Mbeki in the Mount Nelson Hotel. 15:00 Depart for Robben Island from Waterfront. 19:00 Presidential retinue escorted into the banquet hall. State Banquet - strict poll arrangements size of pool to be announced.
WEDNESDAY, 3 JUNE 1998
09:00 Meeting with Malawian citizens resident in Cape Town. 10:00 Depart for Johannesburg. 12:00 Arrive at Johannesburg International Airport.
PM Arrive at the official residence.
Reception hosted by President Muluzi.

11:00 Meeting with Malawian citizens.
