ENNERDALE PAVILION TO BE COMPLETED

Issued by: Southern Metropolitan Local Council

29 May 1998

More money is to be set aside for completion of the Ennerdale Extension 9 Pavilion by the Southern Metropolitan Local Council (SMLC).

The SMLC at its council meeting on Thursday 28 May 1998 approved an amount of nearly R200 000 from savings that were made on the project so far and the budgeted R480 000 to complete the outstanding work that still needs to be done.

The Ennerdale pavilion which consists of seating for 1200 spectators, boasts facilities such as duel seating capacity. This means that you can watch netball and soccer matches at the same time. There is a conference room, a kiosk, change rooms an emergency room and the normal male/female ablution facilities. Negotiations have already been entered into to make it part of the All Africa Games to be held in Johannesburg in 1999.

Once completed, the Ennerdale Extension 9 Sportfields as a whole will further contribute to proving a top class facility for sports events and development in the South region of the SMLC.
