Recreation South Africa (RECSA) have just donated R15 000 to the Southern Metropolitan Local Council (SMLC) to buy equipment for the Sangala programmes (South African National Games and Leisure Activities) to be hosted in a number of SMLC communities.
Sangala is an initiative by the National Government and other private business concerns developed to assist in the improving of the lives of all South Africans.
Together with the SMLC, Sangala has facilitated a number of recreation courses for youth leaders in the development courses and will assist with the presentation of activities in the SMLC.
Communities in the SMLC stands to benefit from the programme as it facilitates cultural harmony and reconciliation, empowers communities to take charge of their own well being, enhancing physical and mental wellbeing and creating mass participation recreation opportunities.
