The musical fountains that have been out of order at Wemmerpan will be repaired soon.
The Southern Metropolitan Local Council has received R189 775 from the Gauteng Department of Sport, Recreation Arts and Culture to upgrade the Wemmerpan musical fountains. The musical fountains have been inoperable for some time due to financial constraints, which impeded repair work.
Wemmerpan is a regional park serving a large geographical area. It is visited by large numbers of people during weekends and holidays. The fountains should be renovated to the required standards within the next few months and in time for the next festive season.
