NATIONAL YOUTH COMMISSION VISIT SOWETO SCHOOLS

The Chairperson of the National Youth Commission, Hlengiwe Bhengu on invitation of Soweto and Eldorado Park community based youth organisations is scheduled to visit schools in Soweto on Thursday, 23 April 1998.

Her visit is hot on the heels of the historic hand over of the very first policy document to the state President earlier this year.

The Soweto visit is part of te ongoing commitment by the National Youth Commission to brief them about the happenings of the commission and also to listen to their immediate interests.

The President of the South African Youth Council (SAYC) Freddy Pelusa and other officials of both the Youth Commission and SAYC will accompany the chairperson during her tour.

Her visit will start at Reasoma High School in Protea North at 8h30 am followed by visit to other schools in the area. During her visit she will also address students of the Vista Soweto Campus.

Members of the media are invited to cover the visit. Photo opportunities will also be arranged. The itinerary is as follows:
