Issued by: Office of the President
PRETORIA April 13 1998 Sapa
President Nelson Mandela has learnt with shock and utter disgust of the shooting and killing of small girl, Anegila Zwane and the injuries cause to her cousin Francinah Dlamini.
Without pre-judging a proper and thorough investigation which must still be carried out by the police, the President regards the incident as callous and inhuman, and deserves the strongest punishment possible in our laws.
President Mandela assures the parents and relatives of the little girl that no stone will be left unturned to bring the perpetrator to book.
The president urges members of the farming community, more especially organised agriculture to make themselves heard in condemning this vile act against innocent children.
