JOINT MEDIA RELEASE
MR A M OMAR, MINISTER OF JUSTICE AND MR M V MOOSA, MINISTER FOR PROVINCIAL AFFAIRS AND CONSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO PERFORM HAJJ IN SAUDI ARABIA
Minister Dullah Omar, his wife Farida, and Minister Valli Moosa will be leaving for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, 4 April 1998 as part of the annual Muslim Pilgrimage to Mecca in order to perform Hajj.
This follows an invitation by the Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and inspector General. The ministers will be guests of the royal family for the duration of their stay.
Minister Omar and his wife will leave Cape town on Friday, 3 April 1998 at 16h45 and will be joined by Minister Moosa on Saturday 4 April 1998 at 09h00, who will depart from Johannesburg International Airport. It is hoped that the visit will strengthen diplomatic, economic and religious ties between the two countries.
