MEDIA STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE OFFICE OF THE MINISTRY FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY, PRETORIA
The Minister of Safety and Security, Mr Sydney Mufamadi was scheduled by the South African Communication Service to do a media briefing on the Safety and Security issues this morning in Cape town.
Unfortunately the Minister had to attend a funeral of a family friend and neighbour in Soweto.
The South African Communication Service were informed accordingly on Wednesday morning (11 February 1998).
On behalf of the Minister, I wish to apologise to the journalists and the diplomats for any inconvenience caused.
The Minister has instructed his office to arrange two briefings, one for the media, and the other for the diplomats.
The media and the diplomats will be informed of the date, time and venue for the briefings.
