The MEC for Public Safety and Security, Gauteng, Ms. Jessie Duarte is to undergo treatment in the Park Lane Clinic in Johannesburg for three days.
According to Dr. Girish Modi, the MEC is suffering from a Post - Viral Demyelinating Disorder which required admission to hospital for investigation.
She is now on treatment and is beginning to stabilise. She is expected to be discharged and resume her duties soon.
President Nelson Mandela, ANC Secretary General, former Premier Tokyo Sexwale visited her yesterday afternoon and Premier Mathole Motshega and MEC for Public Transport Paul Mashatile met with her today.
