ITINERARY OF PRESIDENT NELSON MANDELA (28-01-98 TO 30-01-98)
Wednesday, 28 January 1998:
President Mandela will receive credentials from Heads of Missions from 09h00 until 11h00 at the Presidential Guest House in Pretoria. Media with valid press cards are welcome. Please use Gate 10. It is essential that the media arrive no later than 08h30. The order of proceedings will be as follows:
09h00: Presentation of credential by Ambassador Gedeon Magete of the Republic of Burundi;
09h20: The President will receive credentials from Ambassador Zofia Kuratowska of the Republic of Poland;
09h45: Ambassador Lorenzo Llewellyn Witherspoon of the Republic of Liberia will present his credentials to the President;
10h10: President Mandela receives credentials from High Commissioner Lakshmi Chang Jain from The Republic of India;
10h35: the President will receive credentials from Ambassador Wang Xuexian of the People's Republic of China.
The media are invited to attend a presentation of the National Youth Policy document to the President by representatives of the National Youth Commission at 11h15 at the Presidential guest house, Pretoria.
Thursday, 29 January 1998:
The President may rest at his residence in Lower Houghton today.
Friday, 30 January 1998:
Between 06h30 and 08h00 the President will attend the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations to be observed at the Hunter McKlee sportsfield in Mayfair West. Please contact Iqbal Jhazbhay: 082 880 8603 for more information.
