STATE VISIT TO SOUTH AFRICA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA, HE MR MOHAMAD SOEHARTO

The President of Indonesia, HE Mr Mohamad Soeharto will arrive in South Africa on Thursday, 20 November 1997. His engagements, to which the media are invited, are listed below.

Thursday, 20 November 1997

1055 Ceremonial welcome at Tuynhuys, Cape Town. 1200 Signing of agreements in the Presidential Board Room, Tuynhuys. 1700 Courtesy call at the Mount Nelson Hotel by the Deputy President, Mr Thabo Mbeki. 1850 State Banquet, Tuynhuys.

Journalists covering the first two events are requested to arrive at the main entrance to Tuynhuys at 0945 at the latest. Those covering the State Banquet are requested to arrive at the same venue not later than 1800. They will be met for both events by Viv Naicker. To gain entry, Press Cards are obligatory.

Please note that the ceremonial welcome is open to all media but there will be pools for the signing of the agreements as well as for the State Banquet.
