PRESS STATEMENT
PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE ON ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS AND TOURISM (NATIONAL ASSEMBLY)
It is notified for general information that the Marine Living Resources Bill (B 94 - 97) has been tabled in Parliament and referred to the Portfolio Committee on Environmental Affairs and Tourism for enquiry and report.
Any person or any organisation who would like to make written representations on Marine Living Resources Bill (B 94 - 97) should do so by not later than 23 October 1997. Anyone who would like to give oral evidence to the committee in regard to their written representations should also notify the committee by not later than 23 October 1997.
Although it is permissible to make general comments on the Bill, representations about specific proposed amendments to the Bill are preferred.
On the basis of the written submissions, the committee will decide which persons or institutions will have the opportunity of appearing before it.
