APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF STATE EXPENDITURE
Further to the announcement that Mr Cassim Gassiep has been appointed as the new Director-General of State Expenditure, the Ministry can today add the following short resume.
Mr Cassim Gassiep, CA (SA) FMCA, is a chartered accountant by profession. After spending eleven years in the auditing profession he has spent the past twelve years in commerce. Of those, four years were spent with South African Breweries and the past five years as Financial Director of Boehringer Mannheim SA (Pty) Ltd. He is a founder member of the Association of Black Accountants of Southern Africa.
Mr Gassiep comes to the Department of State Expenditure with a wealth of financial experience, both local and international. He is 45 years old, is married to Jasmin and has three children.
Mr Gassiep will join the Department in October.
