DURBAN BASED TRC INVESTIGATORS EXHUME BODY

Durban based Truth Commission investigators yesterday exhumed the body of a further person believed to have been murdered by apartheid era police in the late 1980s in Durban.

Initial post-morterm reports indicate that the body is that of a woman, and that she had been severely assaulted.

Information leading to the site of the grave at Groutville on the North Coast was given to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in an amnesty application by a former member of the South African, Police Special Branch.
