INVITATION BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO NOMINATE PERSONS TO SERVE ON THE COUNCIL FOR MEDICAL SCHEMES
PRETORIA - The Council for Medical Schemes is a statutory body appointed by the Minister of Health to control, promote and coordinate the functions of medical schemes. The Council is also tasked to advise the Minister on medical scheme matters.
In terms of Section 5 of the Medical Schemes Act, 1967, the Minister is to appoint members to the Council with effect from August 1, 1997 for a period to be determined by her.
The Council consists of:
11 persons who are appointed on account of their knowledge and experience of medical schemes, of whom:
Interested persons are invited to nominate candidates to serve on the Council for Medical Schemes.
Each nomination must state the full names and the address of the person so nominated and must be submitted with a CURRICULUM VITAE, indicating his/her qualifications and relevant experience.
The nomination must be signed by the nominee, consenting to his/her nomination.
Nomination must be submitted in writing and addressed to:
Director-General (for attention Registrar of Medical Schemes Department of Health Private Bag X828 Pretoria 0001
Or submitted by facsimile transmission to the office of the Registrar of Medical Schemes at 012-325 5978 not later than May 16, 1997.
