APPOINTMENT OF THE COMMISSIONERS OF THE COMMISSION ON GENDER EQUALITY
The President has appointed the following persons as members of the Commission on Gender Equality in terms of section 3 of the Commission on Gender Equality Act, 1996 (Act No. 39 of 1996):
Chairperson (Full-time):
Ms Thenjiwe Mtintso with effect from 4 March 1997 for a period of five years;
Full-time members for a period of four years:
Farid Esack, Harriet Ngubane and Papama Nomboniso Gasa with effect from 4 March 1997;
Pinkie Mbowane and Beatrice Thembekile Ngcobo with effect from 1 April 1997;
Elize Delport with effect from 1 May 1997.
Part-time Members for a period of four years:
Dr Catherine Hester Albertyn;
Ms Zubeida Barmania;
Mr Derek Edward Cooper;
Ms Phumelele Clarah Ntombela-Nzimande;
Ms Viviene Elizabeth Devapushpum Taylor.
In terms of section 2(1) of the said Act, The President has determined Gauteng as the Seat of the Commission.
