PRESENTATION CEREMONY OF COMMUNITY SURVEY REPORT.

The North-West Premier, Mr P.S. Molefe, today received a report on the results of the community survey on public service delivery on behalf of the North-West Government and the Executive Council at a ceremony held at the Premier's office in the Ga-Rona building in Mafikeng at 09:15am. The report was presented to the Premier by Prof. Melamu; Vice Chancellor of the University of the North-West on behalf of the two universities. (i.e. Potch University and Uniwest).who were responsible for conducting the survey.

In accepting this report, Premier Molefe highlighted that during his various visits to the communities through out the province, people always raise the concern that they have very little knowledge concerning government programmes, and that they would like government service delivery to be more people oriented.

This survey was initiated to mainly asses the people's perception as to what issues should government concern itself with. The results of this survey would enable more focused Strategic Planning processes and budget prioritisation. He pointed out that this survey, which is the first community survey of its kind in the country; opens doors for the North-West Province in terms of the possibility of this province establishing a demographic facility institute. The ceremony was as attended by the MEC Z.P. Tolo,: MEC Kuscus, MEC Tselapedi; representatives from the North-West Province and the University of Potchefstroom; and the Strategic Development Planning Unit of the Department of the Premier.

The report will be discussed by the Strategic Planning Development Unit and the Executive Council at the next EXCO meeting. There after the results of report will be distributed to the public.
