MBEKI'S WIFE AND FRASER-MOLEKETI WILL VISIT RWANDA

WHO? Welfare and Population Development Minister Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi and Deputy President Thabo Mbeki's wife Zanele.

WHAT? Leaving South Africa on an official visit to Kigali in Rwanda to attend the Pan African Conference on Peace, Gender and Development. Among other issues, the conference is aimed at focussing at the critical role African women could play in preventing and resolving conflicts. Accompanied by aides, Minister Fraser-Moleketi and Mrs Mbeki will also visit the genocide site at Ntarama and the Nelson Mandela Peace Village.

WHERE? Kigali, Rwanda

WHEN? The South African delegation leave on Friday, 28 February 1997. A media conference is planned for Thursday in Johannesburg.
