DENMARK GIVE A GRANT TO THE PRESIDENT'S FUND

INVITATION TO THE OFFICIAL SIGNING OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF THE KINGDOM OF DENMARK

You are cordially invited to the official signing of the agreement between the Government of the Republic of South Africa and the Government of The Kingdom of Denmark on financial assistance to the President's Fund which was established by the Promotion of National Unity and Reconciliation Act, 1995 (Act No 34 of 1995). The Government of the Kingdom of Denmark is making available a grant which shall be spent solely in accordance with the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Commitee on Reparation and Rehabiliation in accordance with the relevant provisions of the above-mentioned Act. This marks a special occasion as the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark is not only the second donor to the President's Fund but also the second donor to this Fund in two days.

Dr A M Omar MP, Minister of Justice will sign the agreement on behalf of the Government of the Republic of South Africa and Ambassador Alf Jonsson of the Danish Embassy will sign on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark. Various other people including senior members of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Director-General of the Department of Justice will attend the signing of the agreement.
