INVITATION TO THE OFFICIAL SIGNING OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF SWITZERLAND
You are cordially invited to the official signing of the agreement between the Government of the Republic of South Africa and the Government of Switzerland on financial assistance to the President's Fund which was established by the Promotion of National Unity and Reconciliation Act, 1995 (Act No 34 of 1995). The Government of Switzerland is making available a grant to finance the assistance to victims of violence during the apartheid's era in accordance with the mandate of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission as established by the above-mentioned Act. This marks a special occasion as the Government of Switzerland is the first donor to the President's Fund.
Dr A M Omar MP, Minister of Justice will sign the agreement on behalf of the Government of the Republic of South Africa and Ambassador Robert Mayor of the Swiss Embassy will sign on behalf of the Government of Switzerland. Various other people including senior members of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Director-General of the Department of Justice will attend the signing of the agreement.
