Media pool arrangements for the Swedish State Visit have been indicated throughout the programme. Members of the SOUTH AFRICAN MEDIA who are interested in being part of these pools are requested to contact Lydia Young not later than Monday, 17 February 1997, at 12:00. Thereafter pools will be arranged at the official's "discretion".

Foreign media in South Africa are requested to contact their pool co-ordinators.

MONDAY, 17 FEBRUARY 1997

17:30 Media briefing in the Ngonyama Room (Small Auditorium), 120 Plein Street, Cape Town, on the media programme and arrangements for the visit.

Swedish media representatives are to meet Charlotte Wrangberg in the foyer of the Cape Sun Intercontinental Hotel not later than 17:00 from where they will be escorted to 120 Plein street.

TUESDAY, 18 FEBRUARY 1997

11:00 HM King Carl XVI Gustaf and HM Queen Silvia arrive at Tuynhuys for a full ceremonial welcome (No photo opportunity of Their Majesties' arrival at Tuynhuys. Photo opportunity of the National Salute which will take place on the Gardens side of Tuynhuys)

Media: There will be three unlimited fixed media positions:
