The Hague (The Netherlands)
Mr Carl Niehaus (37) is a Member of Parliament for the ANC, where he chairs the Portfolio Committee on Correctional Services. He is also a Member of the ANC Executive Committee and Chairs the ANC NEC Commission on Religious Affairs. Mr Niehaus campaigned for non-racial education and the release of Mr Mandela during his student days at the Rand Afrikaans University, He was expelled from the University and joined the ANC in 1980, working underground. In 1983 he and his fiance were arrested and sentenced to prison. While in prison Mr Niehaus completed two degrees in theology. Upon his release in 1991 He became ANC media liaison spokesperson, heading the Media Liaison Unit from 1992 until the elections in 1994, when he became a Mement.
Buenos Aires (Ar Mr Aubrey Nkomo (60) is presently Senior Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He had an active career in the United Nations between 1978 and 1995, holding a variety of offices and working in all regions of the world. He developed high-level contacts in all spheres during this time and gained valuable experience. He holds several degrees.
Luanda (Angola)
Mr Reddy Jan Mampane (51) became a member of the ANC in 1959 and joined its Military Wing in 1961. He left South Africa in 1963 to undergo military training abroad. He served as ANC Representative in Dar-es-Salaam, Lusaka and Harare and became Head of the Security Division in Lusaka. In 1994 he drafted the list of security personnel to serve in the Government of National Unity.
Dakar (Senegal)
Mr Makhaya Mosia (52) was until recently Minister at the South African Embassy in Paris. He holds a BA Hons degree and has also attended study courses, inter alia in diplomatic training, in Norway, Germany, Russia and the UK. He joined the ANC in 1976 and served as ANC Chief Representative in Cuba.
Athens (Greece)
Mr Dawie Jacobs Joined Foreign Affairs in 1977. He has served in Montevideo and Bonn and was Consul General in Frankfurt. He is presently Head of the Department's Directorate Operational Services, directing the important task of keeping the entire Foreign Affairs establishment at Head Office and abroad informed of political a the country. Mr Jacobs holds a B.IURIS degree.
