Views expressed will be taken back to the respective Associations in both countries for ratification. The Associations will exchange detailed information with a view to presenting a formal position to the South African Government. All Associations agreed to make fast progress in their deliberations before the next meeting. The next meeting has been proposed for end of January 1997 to consider South Africa's response to Zimbabwe's proposals.

The meeting was held in a cordial, frank and constructive atmosphere and both sides reiterated their commitment to reach a mutually beneficial Trade Agreement.
