The latest statistics (1 July 1996 - 18 November 1996) of citizens of Southern African Development Community (SADC) member states who have applied for exemption which will lead to their obtaining permanent residence status in South Africa, are as follows:

It must be borne in mind that the final date on which citizens of SADC member States may apply for exemption is 29 November 1996.
