SA DELEGATION FOR COMMONWEALTH MINISTERS' CONFERENCE

Welfare and Population Development Minister Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, leaves for Trinidad and Tobago tomorrow (Saturday) for the Commonwealth Ministers Conference.

Minister Fraser-Moleketi is leading a high-powered South African delegation of women to the Fifth Meeting of Commonwealth Ministers Responsible for Women's Affairs. She will present the country's position on Integrating Gender Concerns into Macro-Economic Policies. The delegation includes ANC MP Preggs Govender, who is also Chairperson: Committee on the Status of Women established after the Fourth World Women's Conference in Beijing. Other delegates are Eunice Komane, MEC for Safety and Security in the Northern Province, researcher and stastician Debbie Buddlender, and Department of Welfare official Florence Maleka. Women and Violence will also be one of the topics to be discussed.
