NWCS MWASA MEMBERS ON STRIKE

Issued by: North West Communication Service

Members of Media Workers Association of South Africa (MWASA) employed by the North West Communication Service will embark on a fully fledged strike with effect from November 08 1996 following their deadlock with management.

Among other things, the workers demand an outstanding 5% annual increment, housing subsidy and housing allowances. The three issues have been negotiated since last year but the management has closed the door for negotiations with the union on Monday.

Workers have vowed not to return to work until all their demands are met.

For further information contact Mr Butler Matlapeng-MWASA Secretary at 0140 873764 during working hours or Mr Oupa Moatshe at 083 271 0486.
