FLAGS TO SCHOOLS PROGRAMME

The National Assembly has launched a programme to donate flags to schools across the country.

The programme gives every member of the National Assembly an opportunity to present a flag that has been flown over Parliament to a school of their choice.

The flags will be presented to schools throughout the country. These include schools from places across the country, such as Soweto in Gauteng and the far reaches of Kwa-Zulu Natal to the southernmost areas of the Cape Peninsula.

Since the beginning of this month, an additional 15 flags were flown over the National Assembly. These flags were handed over to MPs today for presentation to schools.

Each flag will be accompanied by a certificate signed by the Speaker of the National Assembly.

Thus far in the programme the following MPs have been issued with flags for presentation to the named schools :
