MILITARY LEADERS WILL MAKE TWO PRESENTATIONS TO TRC

Former and current military leaders will make two presentations to the TRC in Cape Town on Monday, October 21 at our head-office at 106 Adderley Street, Cape Town.

A submission on behalf of the old SADF will be made by Major General Mortimer, while the chief of the SANDF, General Georg Meiring, will talk about the current situation prevailing in the armed forces.

To comply with the security provisions, journalists and photographers wishing to attend, are asked to submit their names, their positions and their media organisations to the TRC by tomorrow, Friday, October 18. These should be faxed to Christelle Terreblanche, fax number: 021-245225.

Media representatives are also advised to go through the security check by 09h00 am.

The SANDF will make available about 60 copies of the submission/s at around 09h00 am. The proceedings are due to start at 10h00 am and is set to continue past lunchtime.

There will be separate rooms for SABC television and radio, a different room for non-SABC broadcasters, and two for print media. Monitors and DAs will be available in these rooms. Broadcasters are advised to bring field equipment. They can phone Solly Terblanche ahead of time at 0825724221 to check the compatibility of their equipment with the DA. About 40 seats in the hall are reserved for media.
