The Department of Health and Developmental Social Welfare of North West Province will launch the Provincial Flagship Programme at Mathateng Village (125 km west, on the airport road) on October 17, 1996. Starting time is 10H30.
The Flagship Programme is a developmental programme for unem- ployed women with children under five. The objective is to increase the educational and training opportunities for women so that they can provide in the basic needs of their families. Mathateng became a priority to the department for it is one of the most impoverished in the province.
The launching will be done by the State President Mr Nelson R. Mandela accompanied by some ministers from the National Government including our Premier Mr Popo Molefe and all Members of the Executive Council in North West Province. The session will be led by Dr Molefi Sefularo - MEC for the Department of Health and Developmental Social Welfare.
All media personnel including visitors, will be transported from the Department of Health and Developmental Social Welfare (Tirelo Building, opposite UNIWEST) at 8H30 to Mathateng Village.
